Editorial nature of the content
Atlas Limits is an independent publication devoted to the analysis of economic, geopolitical, financial, technological, institutional and social questions.
Published content may include facts, data, interpretations, analysis and scenarios. Analytical conclusions expressed in a publication are the result of Atlas Limits’ editorial work. They do not constitute the expression or representation of the position of a government, a political party, a company, an institution or any other third party.
The principles applied to the production of this content are described on our Methodology page.
Information and absence of personalised advice
Content published by Atlas Limits is provided for information and analysis.
It does not constitute investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell a financial instrument, or personalised legal, tax or professional advice.
Economic, financial or market data may change, be revised or become outdated after publication. Readers remain responsible for how they use the information available on Atlas Limits.
Accuracy, corrections and liability
Atlas Limits takes reasonable care to verify the information used in its publications and applies the principles described in its Methodology.
The nature of analysis nevertheless means that some information may be incomplete, provisional, revised or open to interpretation.
A significant factual error brought to our attention may be examined and, when established, corrected in accordance with the principles described in our Methodology.
Disagreement with an interpretation or an analytical conclusion does not, on its own, constitute a factual error.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, texts, visual elements, editorial structures and distinctive signs published by Atlas Limits are protected by applicable intellectual property rules.
Substantial reproduction, republication, adaptation or commercial use requires prior authorization.
Short quotations are permitted provided that Atlas Limits and the relevant publication URL are clearly identified.
Sources and external links
Atlas Limits may cite or link to data, documents, publications or websites operated by third parties.
These references are used for documentation, verification or context. Atlas Limits does not control the content, availability or subsequent changes of the external resources to which it refers.
The presence of a source or a link does not, in itself, constitute endorsement of all the positions, content or activities of its author or of the organisation concerned.
Technical data
Atlas Limits processes the technical data needed to operate and secure the service, including the IP address and request metadata, in order to route and protect exchanges. The retention period of the host logs is not stated here.
Searches made in the application or on the site send Atlas Limits the search term, the language and the filters needed to display results. These elements are not stored as a search history in the editorial database.
Ask Atlas is an optional feature. A question is sent to Atlas Limits systems. When the feature is active, it is sent to OpenAI in order to produce the answer. Excerpts from the Atlas Limits corpus that are needed for the answer may accompany the question.
When the feature is active, the configuration in use asks the API not to retain the Response as application state where that option applies. The provider may nevertheless retain some data temporarily under its own security, abuse-prevention and retention terms.
Atlas Limits keeps technical data only for as long as needed for the purposes described. Security and rate-limiting data is deleted according to the applicable technical policy. Data processed by providers remains subject to their own applicable retention periods.
To limit abuse of Ask Atlas, Atlas Limits computes a pseudonymised fingerprint from the IP address. That fingerprint is used for security and to limit the number of requests. It is not a user account. The IP address is not sent in clear text to OpenAI for this purpose. When an Ask request is sent to OpenAI, a security identifier derived from that fingerprint may accompany the request in order to prevent or detect abuse. That identifier is not an Atlas account, an advertising identifier, or a permanent device identifier.
Under the current implementation, the text of Ask questions is not stored in the Atlas Limits editorial database.
Atlas Limits also keeps data voluntarily provided by users for services such as newsletter subscriptions limited to that service.
No personal data is sold.
